Congratulations Cassidy Janson, Leading Ladies, Songs From The Stage, album out now 🙂
Occasionally in life, you meet, work, share a moment with a person you are in complete awe off. Cassidy Janson aka CJ is one lady I defy anyone to meet and not be bowled over not only by the ridiculous talent she possesses but the genuinely gorgeous person she is!!
I first met Cassidy Janson when I was an actress. We were filming for a mutual friend, intro’s for his up-coming horror based drama nearly 10 years ago. It consisted of running around the woods on one very sticky summers day screaming at the top of our lungs!! We hit it off straight away and kept in touch.
The Beautiful behind ‘Beautiful
It was mothers day 2016 and I’d bought my mum tickets for the Olivier, Tony and Grammy award-winning musical Beautiful. The Musical ‘Beautiful’ was based on the life of the Icon that is Carol King . My mum was desperate to see it and we were both super excited for our girlie night out. As the young Carol King enters on to the stage. I was completely confused. Having declined the programme I was infuriated with myself. I sat there itchy, knowing I knew this leading lady. However taking headshots, its not usual that I come across someone who has previously came and had a session with me. I also tend to think I know people if they are famous, when I don’t i’ve just watched them two nights before on the new BBC drama.
Struggling around in my handbag whilst trying to not disturb the snacks and people to the left of me. I finally found my glasses and popped them on and to my excitement… I knew exactly that it was Cassidy Janson playing the part of Carol King & boy did she play her!!!!
My mum and I had thee best night, singing throughout. It’s so sad its now come to an end, so I can’t recommend you go and see it. However just in time for Christmas 2017, Cassidy has released a album Called Leading Ladies, Songs From the Stage. A unique union of three celebrated queens of musical theatre: Amber Riley (“Dreamgirls”), Beverley Knight (“The Bodyguard” and ”Memphis”), and of course the Incredible Cassidy Janson (“Beautiful & Wicked”).
The images below were taken backstage at the Royal Albert Hall, getting ready for Magic FM’s Magic of the Musical’s 2016. I had to share, as this lady in so enigmatic even in a dressing gown, getting her hair done.
Wishing the incredible Cassidy Janson all the luck with her collab album, Leading Ladies, Songs from the stage. I will be getting one for my Mum for Christmas!!!
